As President of the company, Dr. Movassaghi is responsible for providing strategic leadership to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies of the organization in accordance with Board directives and the corporation charter. Since his appointment to the position in January of 2005, Dr. Movassaghi has guided the firm through a complete reorganization to maximize the firm's efficiency in a period of rapid growth. Dr. Movassaghi organized the firm's Government Sector group to focus on Federal, State, and Municipal clients.

Dr. Movassaghi is an energetic and dedicated leader. His professional career spans over 40 years of industrial, academic, and public service. He is the immediate former Secretary of Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. He was appointed to that position in December 1998 and served for six years. In that capacity he led a staff of 5300 people and managed a budget of $1.3 billion. His major achievements in that position include a 78 percent increase in the annual construction project lettings with no net increase in the annual revenues. He also planned and implemented a comprehensive management and financial structure to expedite completion of a 30-year $3.5 billion statewide highway construction program (the TIMED program) to less than 10 years. This was the single largest construction program in the history of the Department. Dr. Movassaghi was an active member of AASHTO, served as chair of its Design Subcommittee and also its Standing Committee on Research. He also served on TRB Executive Committee.
