Fenstermaker's High Definition Surveys Offer Unprecedented Detail

Lafayette, LA - Fenstermaker's new High Definition Survey technology gives their surveyors a powerful tool to collect vast amounts of detailed data quickly and efficiently. High definition scanning equipment works by produces a narrow beam of pulsed laser which moves across a target recording millions of measurements in minutes. These scanned measurements are then displayed on a computer screen in the form of a point cloud which closely resembles a 3D model. This advanced surveying technology adds an exciting new dimension to survey applications including as-builts, topographic surveys, roadway, inspection, quality control, forensics, quantities, drainage structures, bridges, and more.

According to Ryan J. Fuselier, P.E., PLS, Engineering Survey Manager, "Our new High Definition Survey (HDS) technology allows us to provide our clients with incredible detail on projects. It's reality capture at its best. HDS point clouds reveal unprecedented detail which allows us to give our client s the most accurate information possible."

High Definition Survey (HDS) is rapidly becoming an industry standard for both small and large-scale projects. Historically, the costs involved with high definition surveys were very high therefore the technology was used only on larger projects. But today, advancements in technology have made high definition surveys a viable option for projects of all sizes. Efficiency is a major benefit of HDS as less field time is required and repeat trips to acquire additional data are virtually eliminated.
