Lovas Appointed to Lead Geographic Information Systems Group
Kam Movassaghi, Ph.D., P.E., and President of C. H. Fenstermaker & Associates, Inc., recently announced the appointment of Larry Lovas as Manager of Fenstermaker's Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Group. Mr. Lovas is responsible for the development of a corporate-wide GIS, as well as marketing GIS services to the Company client base. He is an environmental engineer and has more than 20 years experience with GIS related applications. Mr. Lovas' GIS team members include Lance Crumbliss of the firm's Houston office and Paul Guidry of the Lafayette office.
Mr. Lovas is a twenty-one year veteran of Fenstermaker and is a Registered Environmental Engineer in the State of Louisiana. He earned a B.S in Chemical Engineering, from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1975. As Environmental/GIS Specialist for the Fenstermaker firm, Mr. Lovas provides support services in all aspects of environmental compliance issues relating to the petroleum industry and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) expertise to support for Fenstermaker and its clients.
A GIS consists of a collection of computer hardware, software, and data for collecting, managing, analyzing, and displaying all forms of geographically referenced information. Collected data is stored and organized to allow all users of the system to access and use the same information.
Fenstermaker is a regional company providing engineering, surveying and mapping, and environmental services to federal, state and local governments, the oil and gas industry and private enterprise.
