Fenstermaker Host of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Webinar
Sherie Burton An American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Webinar was hosted by C. H. Fenstermaker & Associates' Engineering Division on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Fenstermaker's Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise Center (LITE Center) office in Lafayette, LA. The focus of the seminar was conflict resolution related to engineering contracts and how to apply improved techniques of negotiation. The seminar provided beneficial information for parties on both sides of a contract negotiation.
Dr. Kam Movassaghi kicked off the webinar with a discussion of Fenstermaker's commitment to providing local technical training for it's employees and partners. The webinar instructor, Gary D. Bates, P.E., F.ASCE is a partner in the management consulting firm of Roenker Bates Group, and is a former construction industry senior executive and educator. He has specialized in the techniques of "effective management through positive communication" and "systems for continuous improvement."
Professional Development Hours were earned by seminar attendees. In attendance were employees with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Lafayette Consolidated Government, and members of the Engineering Division at Fenstermaker.
