U.S. Congressman Charles Boustany, Jr., MD, Chairman of the Mystick Krewe of Louisianians, has selected Bill Fenstermaker to serve as King of Washington Mardi Gras 2010. Given the theme of this year's annual event, "ENERGY – Louisiana Style," the selection of Fenstermaker is quite fitting. As Chairman and CEO of C.H. Fenstermaker & Associates, Inc., Fenstermaker has been an advocate throughout his career for the oil and gas industry in Louisiana. He has served on the Board of Directors of Louisiana Oil & Gas Association (LOGA) since 1993 and acted as Chairman of the Board from 2000 to 2003.
"I cannot begin to count the many meetings, functions, and hours he has spent with me on behalf of our industry. Bill has been persistent, dedicated, and relentless in his efforts to support LOGA and the entire oil and gas industry," said Don Briggs, LOGA president.
Founded in 1950 by Fenstermaker's father C.H. Fenstermaker, Jr., FENSTERMAKER began as a small surveying and mapping company in New Iberia, Louisiana. Under the leadership of his father, and now Bill Fenstermaker, the firm has grown and diversified. Today, FENSTERMAKER incorporates four divisions representing very diverse services. The four divisions include, Surveying and Mapping, Environmental, Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. FENSTERMAKER is headquartered in Lafayette, Louisiana with offices in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, New Iberia, and Houston, Texas.
Mixing important business with a bit of old-fashioned Mardi Gras fun, Washington Mardi Gras 2010 will highlight Louisiana's energy industry and the energy of Louisiana's culture. While the event will certainly include the usual festivities, the main focus for many will be to promote and advance Louisiana's energy industry and bring the message to our nation's leaders that Louisiana is critical to our country's energy future. With oil and natural gas resources and an infrastructure in place, Louisiana is poised to lead the country by tapping into technology and developing our resources with the innovative spirit that the good people of Louisiana are known. Revelers will celebrate Louisiana's people, food, music, and everything else that makes Louisiana the productive and spirited place it is.
