Lafayette, Louisiana - U.S. Congressman Charles Boustany, Jr., M.D., Chairman of the Mystick Krewe of Louisianians 2010 Washington Mardi Gras Ball, is pleased to announce the Mystick Krewe Royalty. The Ball will take place in our nation's Capital on January 23, 2010.
Mr. William H. Fenstermaker of Lafayette will serve as king, and Miss Dayna Elizabeth Haynie, also of Lafayette, will serve as queen.
Bill Fenstermaker is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of C. H. Fenstermaker & Associates, Inc. with offices in Lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Shreveport, and Houston. Born and raised in New Iberia, Louisiana, Bill attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana and graduated with honors in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration Production Management. He is a lifelong resident of Acadiana.
Presently, Bill serves as IBERIABANK and IBERIABANK Corporation Chairman, and also serves on the Lafayette General Medical Center Board of Trustees (Immediate Past Chairman). He has served as Past Board Member and Past Chairman of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce. For his service, he was named Times of Acadiana/Hibernia - Business Person of the Year in 1998, Lafayette Civic Cup in 1999 and Boy Scouts of America Distinguished Citizen in 2001. He was also awarded the 2003 Citizens of Direct Action Colonel Roger Larivee Public Service Award and an Honorary Doctorate of Science from the University of Louisiana Lafayette in 2003.
Bill is married to Ann Countiss Fenstermaker and is the father of four children: Charles Howard Fenstermaker III, Michael John Fenstermaker, James Paul Fenstermaker, and Kathryn Countiss Fenstermaker.
Dayna Elizabeth Haynie is a junior earning a double major in Psychology and Sculpture at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and plans to pursue a master's degree in Art Therapy following graduation. Dayna is an active member of the Kappa Delta sorority and also participates in the Alpha Lamda Delta National Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, National Collegiate Scholars and Golden Key International Honor Society.
A graduate of St. Thomas More Catholic High School in Lafayette, Dayna was a Chancellor's Graduate in the 2007 class. She serves, along with her brother, Ryan, as Co-Chairperson of the Haynie Family Foundation which focuses on charitable giving to education, health care, and art and cultural community needs.
She was selected as a Princess for the Washington Mardi Gras Ball in 2007 and was selected to be a Maid on the Southwest Louisiana Mardi Gras court in 2008. She is the daughter of Randy and Daynese Haynie of Lafayette.
Mardi Gras has been celebrated in Washington, D.C. since 1943, when displaced Louisianians living in our nation's capital decided to bring the celebration of Mardi Gras to their new home. In 1957, The Mystick Krewe of Louisianians was officially formed and has been sponsoring the celebration of Washington Mardi Gras since.
Fenstermaker is a regional company providing engineering, surveying and mapping, and environmental services to federal, state and local governments, the oil and gas industry and private enterprise. Fenstermaker's offices are located in Lafayette, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Shreveport, Louisiana and Houston, Texas.
