Fenstermaker Makes Waves with Acoustic Imaging Technology

C. H. Fenstermaker & Associates, Inc. has recently announced the implementation of a new product line of services in the application of high definition acoustic underwater remote sensing technology. The Fenstermaker firm is now providing innovative acoustic imaging and metrology services utilizing specially configured underwater acoustic imaging and measurement systems. The Fenstermaker firm utilizes the only underwater acoustic imaging and measurement systems of this specification in existence. These systems were configured under the direction of C. H. Fenstermaker & Associates' Underwater Acoustics Group, to maximize performance and resolution in shallow "Brown Water" environments. With the combined experience of over 25 years in underwater imaging and measurement systems, the Underwater Acoustics Group provides unparalleled capabilities in acoustic applications, analysis and interpretation, having performed structure and sea bottom inspections and mapping for several hundred Oil and Gas production facilities and exploration sites in the Gulf of Mexico and other offshore Oil and Gas theaters of operation around the world. With this technology, C. H. Fenstermaker & Associates is able to provide high definition water bottom imaging, water bottom hazard detection and mapping, compressed "Z-swath" bathymetry, water bottom imaging and profiling under floating obstacles such as vessels and barges, and underwater structure deformity inspection, such as bridge pier, and dam inspections for deformities that may have structural consequences. This service provides visualization and measurement of underwater structures and features for the Oil and Gas industry, for ports and harbors, bridges, dams, water control structures, navigable water ways, and forensic investigation as well as many other applications. Ken LaBry, Manager of the firm's Acoustic Imaging Group says, "High definition underwater acoustic visualization is changing the way we see the world. We have assembled a team of qualified personnel and have given them the best tools possible. The imaging services we offer provide our clients with unparalleled precision in underwater applications." Acoustic imaging services are available to various types of clients including the oil and gas industry, port authorities, governmental agencies and law enforcement. Services are available for pre-drill well-site investigations, drilling rig, barge, and support vessel access route, bathymetry and hazard surveys, pipeline exposure surveys, post abandonment well-site surveys, structure abandonment surveys, underwater obstruction surveys, oyster bed mapping, underwater bridge inspections, dam and water control structure inspections, scour assessment, port, harbor, and dock inspections and underwater forensic investigation.
