The Construction Administrator manages construction contracts for various types of projects including roadway design, bridge improvements, drainage improvements, subdivision developments, and H & H projects.
Some duties include:
Reviewing plans and specifications.
Serving as a cost estimating, pricing, and acquisition expert on contract change order matters.
Ensuring compatibility of design with site, materials, methods, techniques, and schedules, including sufficiency of details and specifications, and freedom from significant design errors, omissions, and ambiguities.
Monitoring daily field reports for each ongoing contract to ensure that progress, quantities, and overruns/underruns follow all contract requirements.
Assembling engineering data and information from the field and conducts research into construction records to answer correspondences, prepare technical reports, and brief clients.
Conducting inspections of construction work and observing activities for compliance.
Am I qualified for this position?
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar technical field
Minimum of 3 years related work experience
Must be competent with administration and management, including clarification of contractual matters, matters of negotiation, settlement of claims and disputes, and control of funds
Ability to travel as this position requires frequent travel and some overnight stays; will participate in pre-award surveys and pre-construction conferences
