📍City of Scott, LA — Apollo Road Phase II
Designed for resilience, built for community.
Apollo Road Phase II is more than concrete and steel—it’s
‣ a community connector,
‣ a corridor of opportunity, and
‣ a safeguard for the future of Scott.
Now open and carrying thousands of drivers each day, this 2.2-mile, 4-lane boulevard was engineered with durability and growth in mind:
‣ a 10-inch-thick concrete pavement system,
‣ underpinned by layers of strength,
‣ designed to handle the equivalent of nearly 10 million heavy vehicle loadings over a 20-year performance horizon.
Beneath the surface, an advanced drainage network—including a 27-foot-wide concrete arch and massive box culverts—works silently to protect homes and businesses from flooding.
Above it,
‣ six-foot sidewalks,
‣ lighting, and
‣ carefully designed curbs
make the roadway safer and more accessible for everyone—whether on foot, on bike, or behind the wheel.
For residents, it means safer routes to schools and libraries. For businesses, it means easier access and stronger connections. And for the city, it’s a catalyst for residential growth and economic development across Acadiana.
🚦This is what vision looks like when it becomes reality—civil engineering at work for the betterment of a community.
