New water lines in Calcasieu Parish
A mile and a half of progress underground
We’re grateful to Calcasieu Parish Police Jury for the opportunity to serve as design partner on the Boys Village Road Waterline Project—a meaningful investment in reliability and long-term capacity for this area of the parish.
Along Boys Village Road, between McCown Road and LA 3256, our team is designing nearly a mile and a half of new water infrastructure—replacing an undersized system with one built to meet today’s needs and tomorrow’s demands.
At a community level, this work means:
‣ Reliable water service for residents currently relying on smaller systems or wells
‣ Improved fire protection through new hydrants and increased flow
Project highlights:
‣ ~8,000 LF of 12″ PVC water main
‣ Replacement of existing 4″ line with increased capacity
‣ Jack-and-bore crossings beneath Union Pacific Railroad
‣ Bored crossing beneath English Bayou at depth
‣ Coordination with DOTD for crossings at LA 90 and LA 3256
‣ Steel casing at railroad crossing per railroad requirements
‣ Survey, utility coordination, and alignment within a constrained corridor
‣ New fire hydrants to enhance fire protection coverage
None of this happens in isolation.
From survey crews mapping existing utilities, to engineers navigating regulatory requirements and physical constraints, this is what community-focused civil engineering looks like in practice—thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in the realities of place.
Infrastructure doesn’t ask for attention.
But it earns trust through performance.
And when done well, it supports everyday life—homes, safety, growth—for generations to come, strengthening the foundation of Calcasieu Parish one project at a time.
