C. H. Fenstermaker & Associates is excited to welcome Shalin Townsend, PE, into the firm. Shalin will be adding her advanced skills in civil and traffic engineering to the team in her new role as Engineer.
Prior to joining Fenstermaker, Shalin worked for six years with the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, first as an Engineering Intern and then as a Traffic Engineer after earning her Professional Engineer licensure. She developed deep knowledge and firsthand experience in all aspects of traffic and safety, including traffic mitigation, subdivision plan and permitting review, project management, and crash data analysis.
Shalin’s work in this very specialized area and her passion for improving quality of life in local communities makes her a perfect fit for our Lake Charles team, where she’ll be working under Operations Leader, Kimberly McDaniel, PE, PTOE. Shalin is joining an outstanding group of engineers and is very enthusiastic about working with some of her professional mentors, like Kimberly and fellow Engineer, Diane Hammonds, PE, PTOE.
“With Fenstermaker, I really feel like I get to marry my two identities as engineer and philanthropist. Fenstermaker operates in a way that ensures that we’re doing meaningful projects that positively influence people’s lives while still giving the client a good experience.” —Shalin Townsend, P.E.
We are pleased to have Shalin share her skillset and community spirit both within our company and outwardly in service of our clientele. We are also extremely proud to support Shalin as she works to earn her PTOE certification.
Kimberly has this to say about Shalin: “Our Engineering Team is thrilled to welcome Shalin to the Fenstermaker Family! Her past experience in the public sector will enhance our ability to give personal service to each of our clients. Additionally, Shalin’s background and expertise will further strengthen our firm’s capabilities as we are growing into a premier provider of traffic engineering services.”
Shalin holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree with a concentration in Civil Engineering and a minor in Mathematics from McNeese State University. She is also the Second Vice-President of the Beta Kappa Zeta Chapter of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, where she oversees the chapter’s philanthropic and community outreach.
Welcome to the team, Shalin!
