Groundbreaking: Carencro Sidewalks
Tee Ma Road | Carencro, Louisiana
Ground has officially been broken on a federally supported Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) project along Tee Ma Road.
Spanning approximately 0.12 miles, this investment connects the existing sidewalk just south of Andre Street to North Pointe Drive—creating a continuous, safer route for children attending Carencro Bob Lilly Elementary and for residents navigating this growing corridor.
The scope includes:
‣ New concrete sidewalks
‣ ADA-compliant curb ramps
‣ Integrated drainage structures
‣ Grading and pavement improvements
This is more than a sidewalk extension.
The project integrates subsurface drainage systems designed to manage runoff responsibly and reduce localized flooding risks, ensuring the path above performs as reliably as the infrastructure beneath it.
Backed by federal funding and built to Louisiana DOTD standards, this quarter-million-dollar-scale investment reflects thoughtful coordination and long-term planning.
As shared during the ceremony, it represents steady progress for Carencro—growth guided by intention and centered on public safety.
